Fresh Flowers

There just isn't anything like fresh flowers in winter. If it were up to me I would have bouquets in every room all the time. On most outings Mr. Pocketbook, says no. But this time i just had to. I had passed them up on two different trips to Walmart, and yesterday they just sprang into my cart. Just like that! Aren't they "springy"? Don't cha just love the little cupcake too? That's from Target, only $4.99! Yes, run right out and get yerself one!

I also bought some tulips for my mom. When was the last time you gave your mom flowers? That's what I thought. She will smile if you do. I promise. If not your mom, then someone else. It will make their day. Tomorrow is February! Yippee! One month closer to spring!

Happy Birds

My New Years resolution this year is to be more creative. I used to be, however, when you don't use it, you loose it. One day I woke up and said, "Where did all the creativity go?" I want it back! So, I start looking on my favorite blog spots, and I happen across this cute little happy bird. Now, somethings are just so silly you have to smile in spite of yourself. After all, what would i do with it once created? But, alas i dove in. Isn't he tweet? I mean sweet? He has absoulutey no function other than to just hang there and be cute. He makes me smile, and he makes me happy. So, I figured if one made me happy, think of what a whole flock could do....
Now, I am pondering....what about "Blue Birds" of happiness? And "Valentine Birds" of happines? Will keep you posted if any more flocks arrive...
p.s. i can't quite figure out yet how to link other sites to mine (technology is a work in progress for me). But i wanted to let everyone know the pattern was found on "attic24.typepad.com" . Thank you very much Lucy!

Mexican Train Dominos

The Mr. and I spent a few hours last evening playing dominos with some good friends. It is simply amazing how addicting this game is! We were introduced to this challenging tirade by another couple (thank you, Mr. & Mrs. K). I went out post haste and made the purchase immediately. And, now we practically need a fix everyday. It has not left our dining room table since it's introduction to our home. We do eat. Just not at the table.

Scones for breakfast. I don't know why I don't make them more often. They really are quite simple.

Let the mixing begin...

One is bigger than the other! Oh well, isn't that how it always is??? :)

So Good with homemade grape jelly. Yes, i did say homemade! From my own grapes too.
Lemon Curd is wonderful too. Only a crumb left.
But not for long!

Scones for Breakfast...

I like scones, I bet you do too. I don't make them near as much as I would like to.
